Middle School Program Leader

Job Title: Program Leader
Supervisor: Site Director
Location: Edgewood Middle School
Rate: $14/hour
Hours: Part-Time, 1pm-5:30pm (up to 25 hours/week) Increases to 40 hours/week in the summer.
Job Summary: The Program Leader is responsible for facilitating programs for Club members in
accordance with BGCW’s mission, vision, and values. Program Leaders are also responsible for
facilitating programs and supervising students in 1 grade level, 5th, 6th, or 7th, during Power Hour.
BGCW staff are responsible for making connections with all Club members and providing a safe and
positive environment for our youth. Program Leaders may be required to cover the Before School
Program 1-2 days/week, 6:30am-8:00am.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
● Provide individual guidance and establish relationships with Club members that are conducive to
their growth and development.
● Create fun and engaging programs that reflect BGCA programs and member interests.
● Write a lesson plan for each planned program.
● Lead programs and remain in ratio throughout the day.
● Facilitate Power Hour for 1 grade level, during which all youth should be working on homework,
completing missing assignments, reading, or doing an educational enrichment activity.
● Simulate interest in the program through personal engagement, skilled instruction, special events,
tournaments, contests, and member recognition.
● Be creative and think outside the box when it comes to programming for our youth.
● Ensure program areas are clean, orderly and safe.
● Provide direction to Youth Development Professionals.
● Participate in professional development training as required by BGCW.
● Appropriately utilize shared Google Drives. All Club-related documents should be organized and
accessible by the BGCW team.
● Ensure that youth are following behavior and safety guidelines at all times.
● Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator or Site Director.
Collaboration/Relationships:
● Maintain close contact with the Program Coordinator and Site Director.
● Work collaboratively with other Program Leaders and Leadership Staff to enhance program
development.
Summer Planning
● Work collaboratively with the Program Coordinator to plan, develop, implement and evaluate
summer programs, services and activities to meet stated objectives and members’ needs and
interests.
● Responsible for 1 program area for the duration of BGCW’s summer camp.

Additional Responsibilities
● Submitting material requests.
● Work collaboratively with staff on BGCW and BGCA monthly events.
● Support leadership staff with planning and development of special programs and/or events.
● Assume other duties as assigned.
Requirements
● Pass background check.
● CPR and First Aid Certified.
● High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred. A minimum of 1 year
experience in youth programs is required.
● Willingness to learn the mission, vision, values, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of
Boys & Girls Clubs and the basic principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
● Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
● Strong organizational skills.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions to problems with limited supervision.
● Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with club and school staff.
● Reliable transportation to and from work.

Parkview Morning Program Staff

Job Title: Morning Program Staff (2 needed per day)
Supervisor: Parkview Site Director
Rate: $14/hour (up to 10 hours/week)
Position type: Part-time (6:45am-8:45am, Monday-Friday)
Job Summary: Morning Program Staff reports to Parkview Site Director and is responsible for the daily
operations of our before-school club program. Must be cooperative, friendly, and maintain a high level of
communication with all staff and families. Abide by and support the Club’s mission, vision, and values to
provide a safe and positive environment for our youth.
Key Roles (Essential Job Responsibilities)
● Create a warm and welcoming environment for all youth that come to Club.
● Maintain a clean work environment that reflects the mission, vision, and values of the Boys &
Girls Club of Wooster.
● Responsible for attendance/check-in during our before-school Club.
● Responsible for maintaining high standards of safety during our before-school Club.
● Responsible for receiving payments, writing receipts, and storing payments appropriately.
● Collect membership forms and pass them along to the Site Director.
● Build positive relationships with every Club member.
● Ensure that youth are following behavior and safety guidelines at all times.
● Provide age appropriate activities for youth enrolled in the before-school program.
● Accept other assignments as directed.
