Summer Programs

UPDATE: ALL SUMMER PROGRAM SPOTS ARE FULL. YOU MAY SUBMIT A REGISTRATION FORM WITH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT YOUR CHILD WILL BE PUT ON A WAITLIST.  

SUMMER 2018

Summer programming will run from June 11 - August 3, and will include swimming, crafts, guest speakers, and lots more!
Our hours for 2018 will be 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM.

INFORMATION FOR SUMMER 2018: 

Registration is first come, first served. Our program WILL FILL UP, so get your application in early.

Registration will open for all renewing or current members on March 1. All others may begin registering on March 15.

Half of our spots will be reserved for those who qualify for free or reduced lunch until May 1.

Our summer programs are open to students going into 3rd through 7th grade for the 2017-2018 school year, as well as rising 8th and 9th grade students who are renewing members. Starting in March, find registration forms at the bottom of this page. 
 
Our programs will be hosted out of our club location at Edgewood Middle School.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
**Please note a change this year: The City of Wooster is standardizing their pool entry procedures across all summer programs this year. All participants must purchase a pool pass PRIOR to attendance at Boys & Girls Club's summer program. Cost:

Boys & Girls Club of Wooster has changed its fee structure for summer programs. Categories are based on the Federal Poverty Guidelines which help evaluate such things as free or reduced lunch status. Proof of income may be required. Please see below for the new 2018 fee structure.

Category 1 members: $5/week

Category 2 members: $20/week

Category 3 members: $50/week

** You must pay the $15 membership fee if you were not a Boys & Girls Club member for the 2017-2018 school year. 
 Payment and registration for weeks 1-4 is due June 1. Payment and registration for weeks 5-8 is due June 29. Boys & Girls Club of Wooster will not refund/reimburse registration, nor will BGCW transfer weeks.

The Educational Difference:

Much like our after school program, our summer program will have a focus on education. In our efforts to curtail summer learning loss, certified teachers and paraprofessionals will assist our members in both language arts and math several days a week for grades 3-6. But don't worry, our curriculum won't feel like your child is doing a double-take of the school year. We have plenty of summer activities and hands-on learning experiences to keep your child entertained, while still challenging them to use their brain - even on summer vacation!
